Minotaur

I tried to follow the Minotaur tutorials very closely. I had to monitors set up, one for Maya, one for the video and I would constantly switch between them. I would pause the tutorial after every subtle change the person was making. He would move a vert, I would pause and try to move it the exact same way he did, play again, another vert moved, pause and so on and on. It was a tedious exercise, but I learned to be quick with it. I just didn't want to miss anything. I wanted to see how it feels like to do proper modelling, which I couldn't do at all. In a way it was very satisfying seeing this whole thing, which started as a simple box, take shape slowly into something more and more complex.

One of the most useful things I learned was about edge loops and how to redirect them and make them go the way you want to. This would usually create triangles in the process, but then I learned useful tricks on how to get rid of those.

I think I finally start to understand modelling a bit more. Even if I didn't really do this by myself, I only strictly followed a tutorial, I learned a lot and I feel like next time, I could put this new knowledge to practice .
